    Teatro Nacional Ruben Dario

Located in the ancient downtown of the capital city, The national theater is a very special place with a lot of history. It's a great place to go and experience Nicaraguan music and culture.

A beautiful art museum in Leon. The largely Latin American art is exhibited in four houses, three of them adjacent on one side of the street and the other across the street. It's very quiet and amazing value at around $1 entry fee.

This place offers a great overview of the history, the nature and the manufacturing of cacao and chocolate. There is a chocolate factory located inside the museum and you can book Cacao farm tours.

This is a traditional Nicaraguan steakhouse. The steaks (churrascos) are cooked absolutely perfectly and their service is very good. A little more expensive than other places but well worth it.

The ambiance is fabulous, set in the oldest building in the city. Beautiful vegetarian food and friendly service. It's a bit off the beaten track but worth finding.

Great food in a very reasonable price, the place itself is really beautiful and good cocktails. The staff are exceptionally nice. I highly recommend eating here.

Ola Verde is a must for those who place high importance on eating nutritional and organic food. The Deli has great vegetarian and vegan meals to go and they also sell organic produce from small farmer cooperatives.

A simply great restaurant. All the tapas we had were fantastic, and the beef medallions were simply incredible. Some of the best, tastiest, and most tender beef I've ever had. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere.

    Visit Laguna de Apoyo

Lovely place close to Granada and Masaya for a day trip. The lake, the vegetation and the wildlife are great and there are plenty of places to eat.

    Get up to Telica Volcano

You drive most of the way up to the summit on a very rough road. The last part is about 40 minutes on foot and is a moderately easy climb. The lava is 200m down and you can actually get glimpses of it.

    Hike to Mombacho Volcano

The Mombacho Volcano Hike is relatively easy, but a good walk - a bit less than an hour and a half. There are great views of the craters and lakes.
