    About 6 miles out of Ballymena is Slemish Mountain, the purported first Irish home of the national patron Saint Patrick, and on Saint Patrick's Day every year large crowds make a pilgrimage to the top of the mountain. The mountain is open for hiking at all other times as well, with amazing views from the top.

    A lovely, well-established park with plenty to offer, including children’s play area, tennis courts, bowling Green, picnic areas, duck pond and a pavilion/visitor's center where snacks can be purchased. Over summer, the park and pavilion host a number of events.

    Scrumptious meals made with the owner's own home-reared meat! Can also be visited as a cafe during the day. Classy but relaxed and friendly ambiance, with open fire, live piano music and free coffee/tea top ups. BYO with free corkage.

    Downstairs the Blackstone is one of Ballymena's oldest pubs, with a lovely atmosphere and charming secluded beer garden. Upstairs it is an award winning fine dining restaurant with a fantastic and very reasonably priced menu.

    Fairly standard, family-friendly menu, but beautifully cooked and presented and reasonably priced. Early evening set menu specials and children's menu available. Licensed and BYO.
