Climb this monument for the best views of the city. Found opposite department store, Jenners. Author Bill Byson once described this as a gothic rocket ship!

Brilliant tour of the underground city where people used to live in utter misery. View the small compartments where people once lived and walk the cold dark alleyways, it's fun as well as a bit scary. A definite for thrill seekers! Tours leave from the Royal Mile.

The Edinburgh Museum has had a major refurbishment in recent years and is truly amazing. Free admission although donations are highly recommended. Great cafe and a wonderful shop too. Highly recommend.
