Historic Jamestowne is the original site of the first permanent English settlement in America. The museum is beautifully set up with great displays and information.

Michie Tavern is a genuine 1700's tavern. Great to stop and look around. They serve a buffet meal but it is pretty unmemorable. If you are fussy about your food, maybe just look around.

The Rivanna Trail runs alongside the Rivanna River. It is flat, and an easy and pleasant walk or ride, and is great when you need time out.

Excellent food and service. Beautiful seasonal and local produce, these guys are honestly committed to being one of the best farm-to-fork eateries around.

The homemade pasta at Maurizio's is superb. Good wine list and you can buy it by the glass. Fantastic service and atmosphere.

Service is excellent, staff couldn't be better. I had the pot-roast with mashed red skin potatoes. Perfect comfort food.

Tucked down an alley marked only by a light, and also serving only "light" dishes, the Alley Light is a great place for drinks and nibbles. The dishes are sometimes unusual, always delicious. Great atmosphere.

Good dessert restaurant. It is very popular and they have a wide selection of gelato flavors.

    Check out The Governor's Palace

The Governor's Palace is well worth the visit while in Williamsburg. Although most of the items and structures are recreations, you still get a great feel for how things would have looked in the 1760s. Make sure to walk the entire grounds.
